The concept of a local best gift sustainable Christmas market was developed and implemented as a means of making the ‘best gift in the world’ more tangible and local for residents and local businesses. The purpose was to extend the best gift Christmas ideas into an opportunity for local artisans, artists and producers to reach eastern suburbs residents with locally made, designed and produced, sustainable or environmentally friendly goods ahead of the Christmas rush.
The team at Best Gift Market believes that good design needn’t come at the cost of the earth, which is why we’re committed to introducing hundreds of ethical design businesses to our eco-conscious shoppers each year. It is this core value that has also lead us to adopt as many sustainable practices as possible for our events, and will have us continuing to look for new ways to make Best Gift Market even greener.
We’re encouraging visitors to bring their own reusable coffee cups, bottles and bags to Best Gift Market.
Council has a very strong collaborative spirit and practice with it’s community, demonstrated in the strong attendance at Randwick’s signature events throughout the year.

If you would like to be part of Best Gift Market in 2021 there are lots of ways you can be involved. If you enjoy creating spectacular and thought-provoking artworks; delicious food or unique goods to sell at markets then we want to hear from you.
We’re also looking for individuals (students or passionate event professionals) who would like to volunteer, and event partners to support us in delivering this exciting event. So what are you waiting for? Get in contact with us and be part of Best Gift Market.

Mission
THE BEST GIFT IN THE WORLD a range of larger and smaller family-oriented gift ideas for the Christmas season with a tag line, “gifts …. that don’t cost the Earth”. Gift ideas include installing solar panels, car share membership, bicycles, keeping chooks and bees, rainwater tanks, organic food boxes and charity gifts from NGO’s working in developed countries.
Vision
The main purpose of the local market is to extend the Best Gift Christmas campaign into a tangible sustainable marketplace for local artists, artisans and producers to sell their locally made, sustainable or environmentally friendly gifts for the festive season.
